Say hello to Queensland’s favourite Greek restaurant

The Greek Club’s recently opened signature Greek restaurant, Nostimo Restaurant & Bar, is not only tantalising Queensland taste buds with its authentic Greek fare, but it’s making the industry take notice! This week Nostimo took the title for Best Greek Restaurant Award at the 2018 Queensland & Northern Territory Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence.

With an internationally trained and renowned chef at the helm of a team of passionate and extremely skilled staff, the award comes as no suprise. Since its launch in June this year, Chef in Residence, David Tsirekas, and his team have created a refined, modern Greek offering, celebrating traditional Greek flavours with sophisticated execution – a direct reflection of Tsirekas’ signature style of using traditional knowledge with creative flair.

The Greek Club’s General Manager, Andrew Tambakis, said the state-wide awards were a huge honour, shining the spotlight on and rewarding some of the industry’s best.

The Awards for Excellence, announced at a gala dinner at the Royal International Convention Centre, saw more than 150 local restaurants, cafes and catering businesses gather to celebrate the achievements of their peers who were judges over 37 categories.

The Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judges awards program that celebrates exceptional service and culinary talent across the state and is the only program in Australia where the judging criteria is determined by consumers who rank what is important to them in the dining experience.

The Awards are judged by an independent team of trained judges who anonymously visit the venues to determine the restaurant/café winners. The sores are based on the entire dining experience from food to the customer service experienced when the judges anonymously dine.

The Greek Club was also a finalist in the Wedding Caterer and Function/Convention Centre Caterer categories.
